How many of you knew the White House designated most of the White House press corps "unqualified"? And then picked and chose which reporters they gave exemptions to? It's a naked power grab against a free press... and the press has barely covered it. Their silence is deafening.
The mass disqualification of the WH press corps is from this piece by columnist @Milbank. It shouldn't fall on a columnist to report a huge story about an autocratic president*. And it shouldn't fall on twitter to call this what it is, authoritarianism.

America and England fought the Nazis’ military but not their white supremacist ideology. And now that ideology is threatening our democracies. This brings up so many important points.
Our governments didn’t fight the ideology because they didn’t want to. Because the ideology was ours too.

Based on the reporting from @willsommer, it appears that one of the suspects was twitter mutuals with the North Carolina chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. The NC chapter of SCV marched in Charlottesville, and one its members, Harold Crews, was Deandre Harris's accuser.
The number of terrorism affiliations with people who marched in Unite the Right continues to grow. Because the right is a terrorist movement.

1. @billmaher is a comedian, so I’d be seriously mistaken to take his views too seriously. Still, the host of HBO’s Real Time has an enormous audience. His views, genuinely or ironically held, are therefore amplified far and wide.
2. When it comes to free speech, his views are amplified even more, as they are in sync with a legal movement among conservatives to “weaponize the First Amendment,” according to US Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan. nytimes.com/2018/06/30/us/…
