While he was obstructive in the Iran-Contra era under George HW Bush, there have been numerous reports that his blatant and wholesale effort to thwart the rule of law is shocking people who know him - including Mueller.

So, why?

During his time at GTE and then Verizon, he was one of the highest paid General Counsels in the country with an annual comp in the neighb of $3 mil..

Then, in 2009, he walked away from VZW with $10 mil. in parting gifts.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will be hearing this morning from Jeffrey Rosen, Trump's nominee for deputy attorney general. The stakes are quite different from when current DAG Rod Rosenstein had his hearing in March 2017, but the DAG is still a hugely important post at DOJ
Rosen serves as deputy secretary of Dept. of Transportation. He's a lawyer with significant legal/govt experience, but has never served in any position within the Justice Dept., which is unusual for DAGs. He addresses this in his prepared remarks: assets.documentcloud.org/documents/5810…

Remember this guy? Barry Krisher? Palm Beach County State Attorney during the Epstein investigation?
K. First of all, Krisher was all for prosecuting Epstein until Dershowitz got to him.

Remember: he says to the line prosecutor re: the sweetheart deal “Glad we could get this worked out for reasons I won’t put in writing”
Krisher was known for his work helping child victims and the like.

But he also has been accused of sexual assault.

How is being the lawyer for *Deutsche Bank* consistent with being a "career prosecutor"????
"Longtime prosecutor" woulda been technically accurate, although obviously Deutsche Bank past should still be mentioned.
