My mom was in her 30's during Watergate and in her words, "This is a hell of a lot worse than Watergate ever thought it could be." There is a huge issue that far too few are speaking about, many, my mom's age are experiencing major cases of depression due to what's happening.
She and others in their 70's and 80's have lived through so much. Vietnam, Nixon, Watergate, the murder of JFK, Bobby, MLK, on and on and on, and sure some were upset under the leadership of George W, but I've never seen her this upset, and she's not the only one. So please talk
to your grandparents or parents who are moderates or liberals. They put on a brave face most of the time and it isn't until it cracks for a moment that you see how hurt and upset they are. Just listen to them and let them talk, they need it, and then give them encouragement, even
if you don't believe them, tell them we've had other times like this, and our Democracy always came out on top. I know it's just more stress on those of us, my age and younger, but it's the least we can do for those who are really, really hurt, and there are thousands of them.
