1/ One time, I wrote a motion to dismiss that opened with the line, "This case is like a slip-and-fall lawsuit against Burger King because the plaintiff slipped and fell in McDonald's."
2/ I was told the client was offended by being compared to Burger King, and insisted it be changed to Wendy's. #SecondYearAssociateLife
3/ I also once worked for a partner who added the phrase "To be sure" every few pages in every draft I submitted to him.
4/ Point being, sometimes there are important things to learn from the edits you get, and some times you just suck it up and make the changes because other people have their own idiosyncracies.
