JUST NOW: I asked @senatemajldr if he’d acknowledge that tariffs are taxes paid by American consumers (a yes or no question).

He declined to do so.

AFTER THAT: @ChrisMurphyCT on @realDonaldTrump claiming China pays tariffs: "He's lying -- he's intentionally lying. He knows what tariffs are, he knows that consumers pay them, and he's trying to pull one over on the American public."
