Coral Glades student Thea Gay founded Girl Up to empower young women to become leaders. She was also named AP 2D Student of the Year and president of the National Honor Society. That's why she is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Art. @principalcghs
Ethan Di Egidio, of @NBPSEagles, organized an international swim-a-thon that raised more than $4,000 for a children’s cancer foundation. “I realized I had a chance to give back to a cause that had affected me personally.” Ethan is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Athletics.
.@NBPSEagles student Stacey Gringauz's nonprofit has raised $180,000 for charity. Last year, the group sold custom MSD bracelets and stickers, donating the profits to the 34 families directly affected by the Parkland shooting. She's our #MHSilverKnight winner for Business.
David Radvany-Roth, of Pine Crest School, tutors Latin American immigrants in math and reading. His Reading Boxes project is a mini-audio library he created to help kids read. David is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Digital/Interactive Media. @PineCrestSch
Ashley Paseltiner, of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, organized a not-so-scary Halloween party with the drama club, even getting Disney World to pitch in. The event raised $6,000 and collected canned goods. She's our #MHSilverKnight winner for Drama. #MSDStrong @PrincipalMSD
Aysha Zackria, of @uschool_nsu, is the program coordinator for Writing Fellows, tutoring students to boost their skills. She's also an award-winning writer. Aysha is our #MHSilverKnight winner for English.
Geela Ramos, of Miramar High, organized a mental health fair at her school after her own experience dealing with stress and bullying. She has received multiple awards and accolades for her academic achievements. Geela is our #MHSilverKnight for General Scholarship. @msformoso
Coral Glades' Telease Bowen has raised hundreds to help children with cancer after her cousin's death. She writes a column for the school newspaper about issues affecting the black community, is yearbook editor and is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Journalism. @principalcghs
Jade Harris, of @FlanaganHS, wants to help others maximize their potential. That's why she founded a tutoring program that has helped more than 150 kids. She's our #MHSilverKnight winner for Mathematics.
Julia Karten, of @PineCrestSch, serves as a Big Buddy mentor and created a dance program for children. She was accepted into the Burklyn Ballet summer intensive. Julia is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Music/Dance.
Cameron Giraud, of @STAhighschool, started a marine biology club at a nearby school that didn't have resources for extracurriculars. She's co-captain of the water polo team and studied coral reefs in Mexico with her biology club. She's our #MHSilverKnight winner for Science.
Aiyana Edwards, senior class president at @dillardpanthers, organized her school's National Gun Violence Walk-Out and Rally. She's also president of the National Honor Society and editor of the yearbook. Aiyana is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Social Science.
Michael Anise, of @STAhighschool, started an initiative to help local Egyptian refugees assimilate, tutoring children in English and other subjects, plus starting and coaching a basketball team. Michael is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Speech.
Brooke Giacin, of @STAhighschool, started a blanket drive to gift cancer patients with blankets. She also partnered to help make and deliver Easter baskets to pediatric cancer patients. Brooke is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Vocational/Technical.
Anissa Mansour, of North Broward Preparatory, co-founded a peer support group to help multicultural students like herself thrive. She speaks multiple languages including French and Arabic. She is our #MHSilverKnight winner for World Languages. @NBPSEagles

From School for Advanced Studies, Rita Vega is a photographer for Casa de Jesus and painted a mural for its children's ministry. Rita is president of student government and has her own clothing line. She's our #MHSilverKnight winner for Art. @SASWhiteTigers
Isabella Allen, of Miami Country Day, helped found Scaring for Caring, which builds haunted houses and hosts fundraisers each Halloween. She's also captain of the cross-country, soccer and softball varsity teams. Isabella is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Athletics. @OfficialMCDS
Sofia Alvarado, of Coral Reef, left Venezuela for the U.S. but still gives back, sending supplies to Venezuela's neediest children. She also teamed with Project Cozy to donate blankets to Venezuelan hospitals. Sofia is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Business. @sr_reef
@sr_reef Marissa Manley, of Krop High, co-produced a documentary about Miami's first licensed female architect, who happens to be her great-great aunt. The film has been screened at 12 film festivals. Marissa is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Digital/Interactive Media. @KropSHS
Crystal Jones, of @CarolCitySr1, developed her confidence through drama and dance. She is a dance coach and assistant to her school's productions. She also founded a program to spread awareness of mental health issues. Crystal is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Drama.
Palmetto student Emma Angeletti's nonprofit combats climate change by providing free food waste collection. She writes articles for the organization's website and leads a research project. Emma is our #MHSilverKnight winner for English. @palmettoSHS
Adyant Khanna, also of Palmetto High, has provided clean drinking water to more than 3,000 people in India. His project has raised thousands to install a water supply infrastructure in local villages. Adyant is our #MHSilverKnight winner for General Scholarship. @palmettoSHS
Lorenny Diaz, of South Miami, revived her school's defunct newspaper to help her peers become better-informed citizens. She also created an interactive journalism workshop to inspire freshmen to join the paper. Lorenny is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Journalism. @SMSHCOBRAS
Isabella Pedraza Pineros, of @OfficialMCDS, founded Kaps for Kids, which provides free swimming lessons and gear to underprivileged children. She was also a Breakthrough Miami Teaching Fellow. That's why Isabella is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Mathematics.
Jazmin Neadle, of South Miami, lived between foster homes until she was adopted in 6th grade. Now she's helping other kids navigate the system and partnering with nonprofits to host Quinceañera/Sweet 16 parties. Jazmin is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Music/Dance. @SMSHCOBRAS
Michelle Marti, of Miami Beach High, started a foundation to teach students CPR and first aid. She also received an Outstanding Student in AP Biology award. Michelle is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Science. @mbseniorhigh
Nikita Leus-Oliva, of @coralgablesshs, founded the Miami-Dade Teen Democrats to organize phone banks and canvassing events for Democratic candidates. The club also hosts professional events on topics like résumé building. Nikita is our #MHSilverKnight winner for Social Science.
Jianan Zhang, of Coral Reef, is president of We Are Nature, and has organized nearly 30 cleanups across South Florida and put together voter registration drives. She's our #MHSilverKnight winner for Speech. @sr_reef
Samantha Meador, of Miami Arts Studio at Zelda Glazer, created a club to promote awareness and inclusion of individuals with special needs. The club holds an annual pep rally for the Special Olympics. She's our #MHSilverKnight winner for Vocational/Technical. @maszeldaglazer
Natalie Chevrel, of Lourdes Academy, founded a U.S. chapter Juventud Por Venezuela, which helps provide clothes, food, uniforms and supplies to communities in Caracas. Natalie is our #MHSilverKnight winner for World Languages. @lourdesbobcats
