Trump has been planning a taxpayer-funded visit to his golf resort in Doonbeg. In recent weeks, the White House has been scrambling to find some "official" justification for it. Late Tuesday it announced a meeting with the Irish PM.
On the opposite side of the island, in Shannon, near Trump's golf course. Possibly even at the airport in Shannon, where Air Force One will arrive.
Trump's been on the course 175 days and has cost taxpayers $102 million.
So 2.5 times as many days golfing, at more than 3 times the cost for taxpayers.
The Air Force One flight alone costs more than $1 million.
The Coast Guard spends nearly $1 million deploying ships in the Atlantic and small boats in the Intracoastal.
He has been to Mar-a-Lago 24 times already.
