NEW: London Mayor Sadiq Khan has never been briefed on the Hezbollah bomb factory plot in the city.

He’s been in post for two years+ but kept in the dark by the Met / Home Office.

Sadiq Khan meets the Met’s counter-terrorism chief around every two months. He entered office in May 2016. The Mayor shapes the Met’s budget and four-year plan. Yet @Telegraph understands at no point was he told of the disrupted plot.
The plot was disrupted before Khan took office - which means a briefing was not essential.

But Khan has been weighing how to tackle Hezbollah in the city. He wrote to successive Home Secretaries (Rudd + Javid) about the issue. He wanted a full ban...

...yet was never briefed.

Radicals linked to Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, were caught stockpiling thousands of disposable ice packs.

The packs contained ammonium nitrate - a common component in homemade bombs. (When mixed it becomes extremely explosive.)
Four properties on outskirts of North West London were raided on Sep 30 2015 - three businesses and a home.

Three metric tonnes of ammonium nitrate found - more than used in the Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 and destroyed hundreds of buildings (!!)

The Queen emphasised the post-WW2 international order (which Trump is challenging) in her state visit banquet speech.

“While the world has changed, we are forever mindful of the original purpose of these structures: nations working together to safeguard a hard-won peace.”
Nato would fit under the reference to “international institutions” created post-war to keep the peace. Trump once called it “obsolete”.
So too would the United Nations. Trump once said it risked becoming "a waste of time and money" and was "just a club for people to get together, talk and have a good time".

The irony in this indictment is #HillaryClinton would never have done this. So #Assange's (misogyny-driven) decision to take a giant step to the right and work with Putin to elect Trump has backfired horribly.
Having spent three years covering the #Manning case, it was always my contention that #Assange manipulated Manning to get the documents, and my in-depth research on that case underscores that.
