@alexstamos 2/ Fundamentally I think you have a system that is structurally ungovernable within its business model. That’s why I see the real goal as limiting, breaking up, reining in Facebook so it’s bad decisions don’t have such global and pervasive effects.

Another *SUPER* problematic thing people keep saying about adoption right now. I’m going to try to stay calm and patiently breakdown why this really isn’t ok.
First, we need to address this idea that adoption is expensive. It’s not entirely accurate folks. Two specific kinds of adoption are expensive (and those kinds of adoption seem to dominate the narrative:)

-International adoption
-Private agency adoption of newborns
Here’s the first elephant in the room we need to address then:

Adoption is only expensive if your main priority is getting a specific sort of child within a narrowly define set of acceptable circumstances.

I don't have an answer to this question bc I think it really depends on the actual scientific work. But what I CAN answer is what I think is the most important part of the infographic. (Get to it in a sec & I think it may be what many of you think of as impact)
The very first thing you should decide for your infographic is the size. Is this going to go on Instagram (1080 x 1080 px), will it be printed in a magazine (8.5 x 11"), is it for a sidebar on a website? This is going to dictate how much space you have.

Here I'm starting a separate thread which discusses the leaked Xafinity @TrinCollCam's assessment of #USS and the risks of DB for the sector as a whole, rather than @TrinCollCam in particular. 1/
A striking feature of the @Xafinity document is that it implies that the closure of DB to future accrual as a major source of risk to the sector as a whole. In fact, Secs 4.3 & 4.4 model the risks of closure of DB to future accrual in the near future. 2/
I.e., it models the risks to the sector if #USS had followed through on @UniversitiesUK's Jan 2018 proposal to (at least de facto) close the scheme to all future DB accrual and hence suddenly cease all future DB contributions, soon rendering the scheme cash flow negative. 3/

If we accept that, then that means that the PM can overrule Parliament through printing a simple pamphlet.

That is true only for the people who do not understand the fundamental principles of representative democracy. Everyone who does knew it could only be advisory.

Turning to the question of another referendum and the oft repeated refrain of "Keep voting until you get it right".
It is not the electorate that got it wrong: parliament messed up & messed up badly. They took all the lessons from the Scottish Referendum & cast them out.
