This CNN interview by Alisyn Camerota is one of the more offensive, ignorant, and despicable displays I have ever seen on cable news.

Shameful doesn't even do it justice.

First, she ignored the part of the law that was upheld to instead propagandize on the other part of the decision.

Second, she displayed incredible ignorance on what the law does and what the basis of the legal decision.

The law, as the IN AG tried to explain to her, sought to ban abortions solely on the basis of the sex, race, or disability of the fetus.

Unlike AC's suggestion, the court did not deny review because they didn't think it made sense, but bc they wanted Appeals Ct to review 1st.

AC sough to justify this discrimination by focusing on a few specific cases.

AC was also was wrong in claiming the law would have prevented an abortion in cases where fetus had a disability. That just can't be the sole basis for the abortion.

Finally, I was absolutely disgusted watching her demean the lives of people with disabilities and pretend not to understand why their lives still have value. As if their families won't want them and their lives are meaningless.

Ghoulish.

Also telling she intentionally ignored the elements of having abortions solely based on race or gender. I'm betting she would defend those, too.

There is no issue in the news that has a bigger disconnect between the media and regular Americans than abortion.

How do you confuse "this child shouldn't be killed solely because of a disability" with “Why would you want a family to have to have a child with a severe disability?”

Even most pro-choice people wouldn't show such callous disregard for those lives.

And note how dishonest the framing here is: Camerota isn't arguing that we should have exceptions for certain fatal abnormalities, but using those to justify protecting the choice in all cases to have abortions based solely on the basis of sex, race, or disability.
