The subpoena demands documents and electronic data “or objects” going back to 2015 relating to Gillum, his political action committee Forward Florida and his 2018 campaign by May 7.
It also demands info on John H. Jackson, president & CEO of Schott Foundation for Public Education, for which Gillum was listed as a board member until 3/2017, and a related nonprofit, the Opportunity to Learn Action Fund, for which Gillum served as president as recently as 2017.
In addition, the subpeona asks for information on a donor to Gillum’s campaign, Donald Sussman, who contributed $1.5M, and Gillum’s longtime friend & advisor Sharon Lettman-Hicks, CEO of the National Black Justice Commission, a black LGBTQ advocacy group, according to the Times.
Gillum reported income of $71,000 from P&P Communications, Lettman-Hicks’ public relations firm, in 2017, and his 2018 campaign paid the firm nearly $45,000 in rent for office space.
