Rules vs Discretion
Should we just ensure money supply grows at x% steadily
Or should we trust the discretion of wise and smart central bankers?
Religious discipline vs Rational control
Do we trust ourselves? Or do we not?
Should we religiously adhere to time-tested rules? Or should we back our reason to resist temptations and bad habits?
Should we trust human nature? Or should we not?
Is Free Will indeed a thing? Or do we just pretend to be free while remain in our private traps, out of which we can never quite climb out?
The key question is not that. The question is - who rules us?
