I just joined TW to get something off my chest regarding the Pep Guardiola-Juventus FC saga. I don't wanna sound plausible, I don't want anyone to believe me and I don't care about what you'll say. If you won't believe me, that's your prerogative:
The Guardiola-Juventus FC deal has been signed and sealed for weeks, if not months. What's holding off the deal from becoming public is that the catalan is trying to come out of this mess as clean as possible.
Guardiola is the one who approached Juventus FC first, not the other way around. He wanted a way out of Man City given the upcoming sanctions, but now he wants to look like he was forced to leave by those sanctions. He wants no stains on his public image, but he wants Juve.
Reports circulating about Adidas paying Guardiola to join Juventus FC are just stupid. That cannot happen under current UEFA rules. Adidas can and will restructure its sponsorship deal with Juventus FC IF they are able to land Guardiola.
Juventus FC owner and president Andrea Agneli has played along and he was willing to wait for Guardiola to find the right time to tell Man City he's leaving, but he's growing impatient and will soon force his hand on Guardiola, on UEFA and on Man City.
Agnelli might offer Man City significant compensation for releasing Guardiola from his deal with them, but is frustrated by the fact that the man he handpicked to lead Juventus FC isn't doing enough to honor his deal.
I see italian fans tracking private jets in and out of Turin, but they're just wasting their time, as the deal between Guardiola and Juventus FC has already been signed and just needs to be activated, as soon as Guardiola frees himself from Man City.
Juventus FC has an amazing project in the works for Guardiola to overview and improve with his soccer ideas. It's not just about soccer philosophies, it's a completely new way of training, a revolutionary way of teaching and understanding soccer at all levels.
Agnelli can wait a few more days for Guardiola, but won't do it without signs that Guardiola is willing to speed things up. Option 2 for Juventus is NOT Chelsea manager Mauricio Sarri.
I'm told with no Guardiola deal, Juventus FC manager could be Massimo Carrera, who's currently managing in Russia.
Mr. Agnelli wants Juventus FC to be run by a new generation of managers and front office guys, he wants to push the team into the future and be a pioneer. I find it laughable that he would give the managing job to a 60-y.o guy. That's not happening.
Guardiola would fit the mould and was blown away by Agnelli's vision of european soccer in the next 5-10 years. Investors will put bags of money into sponsorship deals if Agnelli lands Guardiola, and that has been the talk for months among investors based in London.
And just to be clear, the Sarri deal is being pushed by his agents at Lian Sports. Juventus FC is playing along as this gives Agnelli time to wait for Guardiola, but a Sarri deal would not come without a Kalidou Koulibaly deal as well.
Both Sari and Koulibaly are with Lian Sports, but reaching a deal with maverick Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentis would be even more difficult than getting to Guardiola, Sarri could have been freed by Chelsea 12 hours after the UEFA EL final, but they're waiting.
They're waiting for Juventus' green light, that might never come. Just look at managing jobs in Roma and AC Milan. Still vacant. They know they can get to Sarri if they wait. If they knew Juve was all-in on Sarri, they would have filled their managing jobs already.
Another stupid thing media folks are saying is that Mauricio Pochettino might go to Man City if Guardiola leaves for Juventus FC. Horse crap. New Man City manager would be Mikel Arteta, assistant manager under Guardiola at the moment and rising star in the coaching ranks.
