Here, ⁦@AllMattNYT⁩ has the sads for Christopher Steele. He’s going to be “thrown under the bus” for FISA abuse—he had “nothing to do with that.” Steele was “simply a source of information.”

to seed the bogus dossier in the media before the election. The dossier-sourced Yahoo News article was cited as evidence in the Page FISA application. Steele was fired by the FBI for unauthorized contacts with the media, and is under criminal referral for lying to investigators
This makes @LeeSmithDC piece today even more relevant.

He demanded that Devin Nunes step down as chair of House Intel, then criticized his memo a year later while defending a counter memo authored by Adam Schiff.

1/ Did anyone at @chicagotribune check the factual and legal assertions in this opinion piece? It's full of obvious misstatements of law and fact. The author isn't an attorney, and the result is propaganda masquerading as legal analysis. chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/c…
2/ For example, he claims that "by charging former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn for lying to the FBI, Mueller emphasized that even the appearance of false testimony is felonious behavior." But Flynn admitted he knowingly and willfully lied--that's not an "appearance."
3/ He then concludes that because Mueller charged Flynn, he must charge McCabe. But it appears unlikely that a prosecutor could prove McCabe lied beyond a reasonable doubt, while Mueller obtained a guilty plea from Flynn because he was likely facing prosecution for other crimes.
