A brief digest of what happened in human rights in Russia last week.

On 6 June police arrested investigative journalist Ivan Golunov of @meduza_en on drug charges. Lack of evidence of his guilt and numerous violations of law by the police indicate a fabricated case.
His arrest caused huge outrage and outpouring of support for him from other journalists & general public. Spontaneous protests took place in Moscow and other cities; leading newspapers put "I/We are Ivan Golunov" on their frontpages. He was released under house arrest on 8 June.
On 4 June a court upheld decision to send another "inconvenient" individual under house arrest. Roman Udot had helped Golos uncover election rigging. He was charged with threatening a pro-Kremlin TV station employee who was stalking him.
Just today, Alexey Navalny's aide @leonidvolkov was to be released after spending 20 days in jail for "organizing" a peaceful rally in Moscow on 9 September 2018. Instead, he was dragged to a court and tried again, this time for a protest in St Petersburg on the same day.
In fact, Volkov was merely covering the protests on YouTube, which police think constitutes organization. He was given 15 days in jail and reportedly there is a list of 6 more cities where he "organized" protests with his broadcast. So he can be tried 8 times for the same thing.
The only good news just came from Chechnya (of all places). A court there approved parole for Oyub Titiev, perhaps the last human rights activist in the republic. He spent 1.5 years in detention on trumped-up drug charges.
