Note on Kerry Blackshear:

From what I've heard, individual exposure (i.e., "being the man") will have little to do with his college choice. He wants to go to the place where he has the best chance to make a deep postseason run before going to the league.
He played at Va Tech, so it's not like he's been off people's radar for four years. So the exposure angle won't work for him. "Are we good enough to make a deep postseason run?" will be the biggest question for all schools involved.
If Tennessee can sell KB that Turner/Bowden/James plus the potential waiver of Plavsic (which allows Fulkerson and Johnson to be role players off the bench and for the "projects," i.e. Burns/Gaines/Pember/Kent) to mature slowly, I think they have a really good chance.
On paper, Kentucky has the best chance for a deep run, but that frontcourt is loaded with Richards/Montgomery/Bucknell transfer already.

Cal will sell KB on filling Washington's role is my guess.
Last thing re: Blackshear. Unless something has changed in the past 48 hours, Calipari is the only coach to have done an in-home visit with him.

But what can’t be discounted is KB really likes Barnes and would be a perfect fit for that system.
