1/ If you don't believe collective bargaining can matter in a digital, professional workplace, read this thread outlining the great terms won by the @vox_union. It's a credit to both the union and management and, I believe, will make a fine company even better.
2/ Before tech, I covered organized labor for the Wall Street Journal, so I know it has had many flaws. But I also know that a union can be a boon for all when it's honest and democratic. And I say this as a former management employee and current shareholder at @voxmediainc.
3/ I can think of plenty of bad companies, but I don't condemn the concept of companies in general. The same should go for unions, whose right to exist and bargain is enshrined in federal law and regulated by federal agencies.
