Bernie's campaign is stoked about the lineup, which let's be honest, clusters high-polling candidates on Night 2. Elizabeth Warren could turn this into an opportunity, but fact is she's not able to steal progressive thunder from Sanders, who is likely to enjoy a larger audience.
Also, because she'll be the only top-tier polling candidate on Night 1, if anyone wants to punch up, they'll have to punch up at her. If she tries to punch up, it may come across as taking cheap shots at people who aren't present to defend themselves.
Of course, there is the possibility all of the candidates just focus on the man, punching up at the president. We know they're almost all looking to Republicans for crowded debate guidance, and the early 2016 GOP debates were rather civil even with moderators instigating.
But we also saw that civility break down later among the 2016 GOP debate participants. Inevitably, it gets heated when the contests come around. In other words, if it's all Orange Man Bad, "anyone of us would be better presidents than Trump," rest assure that will dissolve later.
