Judge Jackson in D.C. has unsealed dozens of pages of chat logs between Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort and news personality Sean Hannity.

A few excerpts:
Manafort: "I have new lawyers who are junk yard dogs and will undo a lot of this injustice. But it is going to be painful and expensive fight for me"
Manafort: "The establishment feels like they have to kill Trump"

Hannity: The left may win and get me fired at some point. But I dont give a shit. I'll get 2 Dixie cups and talk to myself
Manafort: Your attitude keeps you free.
Hannity: Paul I started as a dishwasher and construction worker. I'm 55. I'm pretty wealthy and I dont care"

Manafort: Your life story and mine are the reasons this country was created.
Later:
Hannity: They have had a bullseye on u and look at what they did. Gorka is right. This is a banana republic. Republicans suck.

Manafort claims Mueller prosecutor Andrew Weissman was "squeezing people to lie about me or be indicted" to which Hannity replies "Yup. Disgusting. I'll be in the cell next to u. Exposing him is my great pleasaure. Tactics disgusting. Can you talk yet?"

Manafort: Neither of us will be in jail. He is dragging my bail resolution to keep me from going on attack

From Nov 2017 chat logs:
Manafort on SPC team, saying he "cannot allow them to win" adding "it would empower them to go after DT [Donald Trump] and lots of others."
Hannity: The country can't allow it.
Manafort: Plus I plan on helping on the re-elect

As I read through these, the 1st thing is probably the most obvious. As a reporter, I cannot imagine talking to a subject I was covering like this. I cannot imagine this because to me, it strikes me as wildly unethical. But I'm not Hannity and I follow diff rules.

Manafort had his faith in the fairness of the justice system "destroyed."

At perhaps the height of irony in these texts:

Manafort tells Hannity, while under house arrest, that he told the govt to "fuck off."

Hannity says an "FBI friend swears" he's "gonna get shot. Haha"

Manafort calls SPC team "self righteous criminals" who use "our money to try to fuck [us]"

Recall: Mr. Manafort earned his money over the years as a lobbyist and strategist for dictators at times.

In the above tweet, note Manafort and Hannity lament for the money Hope Hicks will have to spend on attys.

Manafort says it feels like he is having an "out of body experience" as charges mount. Irate at Weissman:

Manafort talking to Hannity ahead of his trial in Va and after Rick Gates "sweetheart deal." Says he will never give up anything on Trump or Jared Kushner. To which Hannity says there is nothing to give up.
Manafort says SPC would want him to "make shit up" on POTUS.

Manafort claimed to Hannity that he had SPC prosecutor Weissman "trapped privately on a couple important things he did."

It seems that scheme did not go as planned, though he believed he would "prevail."

I encourage everyone to read the logs in their entirety.
Hannity as a cheerleader for the president and for Paul Manafort; Paul Manafort convinced he is being railroaded. Someone is telling Manafort Trump is "pumped" for him before everything collapsed around him.

At the end of the day, a jury of his peers, fellow Americans, found him guilty of bank and tax fraud.

Not the news media. There may be some confusion about that.

I will credit this to Hannity - when Manafort asked him "for a favor" and requested Hannity advertise Manafort's GoFundMe for legal costs on his broadcast, Hannity didnt immediately say yes.

He said he would have to run it by Fox first.

The takeaway for me is simply this: hindsight is 20/20.
