the man who murdered heather heyer will be sentenced on friday for the charges he pleaded guilty to in federal court. since the defense motion asking for "mercy" was filed on friday, i've seen a lot of news coverage about his sad life history. remember how many lives he ruined.
what this comes down to is whose story we are allowing to be told. is this a tale of a troubled young man or the scores of lives he destroyed that day?
if you're interested in a detailed account of his state trial (there was no federal trial - he pleaded guilty to those charges in exchange for taking the death penalty off the table), i covered it in depth last year.
