THREE TIERS

(referring only to how I think they did tonight—no other generalization—with rankings between and within tiers)

1⃣ Harris (big gap) Buttigieg

(big gap)

2⃣ Swalwell, then Biden, then Gillibrand, then Sanders
3⃣ Bennet, then Hickenlooper, then Yang, then Williamson
(I took into account where a person's starting-point was, thus Swalwell's higher-than-expected positioning, but also how they presented on TV, thus knocking Bennet down a few pegs)
(I would further say that, unlike yesterday, basically everyone in Tier 2 and below had either a middling or a bad debate, so please don't think me putting Swalwell in Tier 2 is necessarily a significant compliment; as ever, everything is relative)

2/ If in fact Keane is one of the primary reasons we're not at war right now, and is therefore (in a sense) helping dictate when we *do* go to war, America *needs to know* that Keane is connected to three convicts (Flynn, Gates, McFarlane) and the under-investigation Tom Barrack.

Do people realize that if Bernie wasn't running Warren would lead Biden by 10?
(That's just a statement of fact, not a statement about whether Bernie should be running.)
Everyone—slow your roll. My point—as I said in the followup—wasn't about Bernie running. It was about how media is reporting the Dem race, which—now—is by implying Dems want an "electable" candidate who's "moderate." But obviously Sanders/Warren voters way outnumber Biden voters.

1/ Part of the goal here is to scare and confuse Americans into not *knowing* if there's a citizenship question on the census or not, which is again—and this is now a pattern with Trump—*information warfare* being waged against the American people. But I fear there's another aim.
2/ I worry this is an effort to run out the clock somehow, to breach first and ask permission later, putting into the field a census containing a question DOJ claims is compliant with the SCOTUS ruling and then getting sued *after the census is underway* and saying "oops," later.

As I first wrote several weeks ago would happen, the Democratic debates have restructured the polling, putting, as I predicted, @KamalaHarris and @ewarren within striking distance of @JoeBiden.

Biden 22%
Harris 17%
Warren 15%
Sanders 14%
Buttigieg 4%

Months of assertions that #Biden was "inevitable" have been eviscerated. Unable to stand up to #Harris at the debates, Biden appeared tired, confused and unprepared, despite having been kept away from major events for weeks by his handlers. Harris has been campaigning daily.
#Warren won the first debate handily, with only @JulianCastro and @CoryBooker offering any other strong moments in the two hour debate.
The new rankings put #Harris and Warren in the lead for most electable and many are already talking about Harris/Warren as the 2020 ticket.

#Biden has always been a disastrous candidate for women and thus far is performing badly as ever.
Biden's rollout in majority black Philly was small, majority suburban and male.
Biden has zero policy, but much baggage.
Biden is NOT our future.
The future is female.
I know no one who is pro-Biden.
Not my MIL who rolls her eyes over Biden but likes Warren nor a single other family member, friend, colleague or neighbor, whether boomer, gen x or millennial.
Polling has been limited and 67% say they are still looking while Biden's numbers drop.
This long, well-researched piece on Biden by @rtraister is the story of Biden & women. It clarifies why he's not the choice for an electorate that has moved left & younger. The excitement is for the women & younger men. Debates will shift the narrative.

Critical point here is that the MSM is claiming that #Sanders "came within a handful of votes" of #HillaryClinton, when he lost in a landslide of 4M votes, 1k pledged delegates (not SDs) and a dozen states.

This false narrative harms #Sanders--it's meant to highlight how badly he's doing in 2020 and prop up #Biden. But Sanders is actually doing better than in 2016. There are just more players. And Biden is being replaced by a younger centrist, #Buttigieg.

Calling Pennsylvania "#Biden's home state" as an excuse for why his base of operations isn't Delaware, where he was senator for THREE DECADES, ignores that he's trying to deflect from what Delaware stands for and what he did there when #Warren is going to hammer him on it.
#Biden never lived in #Philadelphia, ever.
He was born in Scranton, a white town upstate that is diametrically oppositional from Philadelphia which is majority black and the poorest big city in America.
Biden moved to Delaware from Scranton, PA when he was TEN.
It's fine to decide to distance yourself from the place--DELAWARE, not PA-- you lived for SIXTY SIX YEARS & where you grew up, got married, raised your kids & grandkids. But don't pretend it's because you are FROM Philadelphia when you just want our votes & your state is tiny.
