Jeff Flake would sign off on waterboarding you every day for a year and years later tell himself that he opposed torture, because he personally took a moment to think "I disapprove of this" before every signature.
Flake is lying to us about having opposed Trump over birtherism, which he most certainly did not, in order to steal the moral authority to conflate Don Trump's constantly repeated racist lie with President Jimmy Carter's simply stated powerful truth.
Donald Trump is dangerous, but he isn't as dangerous as the ocean of Jeff Flakes out there, loudly proclaiming "this is wrong, we shouldn't do it," while doing it, and later telling themselves: "that was wrong, but at least *I* didn't do it."
We need to start disqualifying Jeff Flake, is my point.
