Can A Sixth Grader Read Your Ad?

I've worked with a couple of clients who want to impress their audience with big words.

And when I object, they say my words sound too simple.🤔

I'll say it again if your prospects don't understand what you say, you just wasted your
money and your time.

Legendary copywriter David Ogilvy said he once used the word "obsolete" in an ad. And it caused confusion.

At some point, he met a newscaster who asked him the meaning of 'obsolete'.

That was when he learned his lesson.

Keeping your ads in a simple tone
goes beyond words. Your sentences are also IMPORTANT.

Avoid long sentences, no body has the time to hold their breath while reading your ad.

And nobody has the time to grab a dictionary when they are reading your ad.

Your job is to sell and not to give an inaugural speech
There's a test used in checking if your ad is readable.

And it says: “If a kid in fifth grade can understand your ad, then your readability score is perfect"

I'll be revealing an EASY way to do this test in my upcoming ebook.

For now, Keep it as SIMPLE as POSSIBLE.
