Look, I don't know what happened here, but everything in my experience tells me this man more than likely misgendered this woman numerous times and made several transphobic comments, successfully goading her into "disorderly conduct".

So, even though this woman was well within her right to use the correct restroom and the police shouldn't have been called on her and she should expect dignity in a public space, SHE was arrested for reacting to a coward diminishing her humanity. Tell me how this is justice.
This is why even in jurisdictions with non-discrimination protections for trans people, so many of us still avoid public restrooms, gyms, pools, etc. -- because even when the law is on our side, there are cultural variables that force us to absorb indignity or face consequences.

Pretty remarkable that Bill Watterson ended "Calvin and Hobbes" almost 23 years ago, and no newspaper comic strip has come even slightly close in quality or popularity.
It's also weird writing that knowing there's a 100% chance Bill Watterson will never see it, nor any other tweet on here commending his work, and on top of that, there's a decent chance he's probably only heard of Twitter in passing and likely hated the concept.
Also: I give thanks that "Calvin and Hobbes" was never made into an animated program.

The folks saying a week ago that Biden was unfairly attacked by Harris and the debate doesn't represent his true position -- I haven't heard a peep out of those folks since last week.
Kinda undermines your defense when the person you're defending quadruples down on a bad position.
"I was wrong then, and I was wrong now to defend it. It was embarrassing for me personally but nowhere near as awful for those affected by white supremacy in policy. I'm sorry to those I hurt and to my supporters for how I led in this moment. I am determined to do better."

Honest question: does this approach work on anyone? Like... have you ever approached someone like this and convinced them your politics are the best way to go? Because it just seems to me like a lot of performative nonsense. I can't imagine you win over anyone doing this.
And, you know, based on recent polling, I can't imagine it's going to be of much help to Bernie, either. Y'all are driving this campaign without much innovation or proper outreach. Switch it up. You don't wanna wake up in Iowa next year wondering why you got 4th place.
I mean, I guess if your goal is to rant a lot and bask in the glory of a documentary that's released in 2022 on "what might have been" if Bernie had won the nomination, maybe none of this matters, but weirdly, I think you have a lot more to offer people. You should try it.

Here's something I've been studying on here for a bit. A lot of men, seem to have been conditioned to think that telling someone that you disagree is the same as asking them a question. Like the way they learn to engage is by *creating a conflict*.
I don't think this is a small thing. In fact, I think it is the source of a lot of the unintentional frustration that men cause on here. (I'm only talking about those who actually "mean well".)
I have had this exchange numerous times. It goes something like this.
Them: I disagree. | I've had a different experience.
Me: I don't care. | What's your point?
Them: Geez, I was just trying to learn. Why are you attacking me?!

richard preston was sentenced to eight years, with half suspended. he’ll serve four years for discharging a firearm within 1000 feet of a school (more specifically, at corey long) on august 12, 2017.
charlottesville commonwealth’s attorney joe platania says preston was remanded to custody after the hearing and will be headed to albemarle charlottesville regional jail now.
