For the most part I'd argue that founders don't build companies by accident. Certain conditions or attributes make them uniquely qualified to build their company.

Founder <-> market fit
Founder <-> problem fit
Founder <-> product fit

What am I missing?
Founder <-> market fit

- temperament: different markets suit different types of people
- domain knowledge: you're uniquely qualified to build a category leading business in this particular market
Founder <-> problem fit

- purpose: resilience is mandatory, having a clear purpose is a massive help
- experience: you've suffered the problem and its given you a unique insight or point of view on the World
Founder <-> product fit

- Skills: What type of product or service is needed? E.g. building an on demand, highly distributed, people driven marketplace is very different to pure software
