It's a quiet Tuesday morning and, oh hi @HouseJudiciary .
The House Judiciary Committee, which is focused on the obstruction evidence in Volume II of the Mueller Report, seems to be focusing on the Session's recusal, & Trump's relationship with American Media (Stormy Daniels, etc.)
It's possible that I'm over reading this, But the list can be broken into two separate blocks, each in alphabetical order: Dearborn to Sessions involves Sessions' recusal & Trump's efforts to have him unrecuse & restrict the Mueller investigation. Davidson to Pecker is AMI.
Dylan Howard is a bit of an outlier, involving the Jeff Bezos AMI/Nat'l Enquirer story, not the Stormy Daniels payment.

You’ll recall that under AG Sessions, women fleeing domestic violence were barred from receiving asylum. Now, despite a lack of clarity over what qualifies as a “safe” country & whether Mexico is one, migrants who pass through there on the way to the US won’t qualify.
This isn’t an effort to curb illegal immigration, it’s an effort to drastically restrict legal immigration.

*Breaking* Judge Furman, in the New York Census cases, has denied DOJ's motion to substitute new counsel for the existing lawyers (with two exceptions), but will permit DOJ to file a new motion if they explain the reasons for the withdrawals & certify the case won't be delayed.
The two exceptions are lawyers that have left, respectively, DOJ & the Civil Division in Main Justice.
The opinion concludes: "Defendants (That's DOJ) provide no reasons, let alone “satisfactory reasons,” for the substitution
of counsel."

There are 3 census cases. 11 DOJ lawyers who worked on them have asked to withdraw. That's after a trial in NY, appeals in NY & Md., hours of work research, work on issues & drafting pleadings. The new team from a DOJ division that doesn't do this kind of work.
James Burnham, a deputy assistant AG in the Civil Division's federal programs division, formerly from the consumer protection branch, where the new team comes from, reportedly told Barr a number of people who had been litigating the case preferred not to continue.
"Barr said the change in attorneys working on the issue came about after Burnham approached him & "indicated it was a logical breaking point since a new decision would be made & issues going forward would hopefully be separate from the historical debates." cbsnews.com/news/barr-cens…

So it appears the new "star" of the Democratic party is now John Dean of the famed Watergate scandal. Beginning today, he is testifying on a panel to the House Judiciary Committee re: the implications of, and potential actions as a result of, the Mueller Report.
2) It is interesting the Democrats would choose to take expert advice from a man who was convicted of obstruction of justice, served prison time and was disbarred from practicing law over Watergate! (You just can't make this up this stuff, people!)
3) He admitted supervising payments of "hush money" to the Watergate burglars, notably E. Howard Hunt, and revealed the existence of Nixon's enemies.
