Buried within the Mueller report, there is a true story that reads in parts like a thriller, like a comedy, like a tragedy — and, most important — like an indictment. But why does it seem like no one read it? bit.ly/2S7auyd
Not reading it makes sense. As a narrative, the document is a disaster. And at 449 pages, it's too long to grind through. So INSIDER hired Mark Bowden and @chadhurd83 to tell you the gripping true story in a digestible and visual way. bit.ly/2S7auyd
Here's what you need to know:

• The Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election in a systematic fashion.
• Russia and the Trump campaign made repeated and varied attempts to foster ties of mutual interest that largely failed. bit.ly/2S7auyd
• In 2016 leaders of the campaign, including @DonaldJTrumpJr, met with Russian operatives hoping to receive "dirt" on @HillaryClinton.
• Nothing came of the meeting, but when reports of the gathering came up a year later, the administration scrambled.

• That was just the beginning, though.
• Trump demanded loyalty from former FBI director James @Comey and didn't receive it, and people surrounding the Trump campaign and presidency started to leave. bit.ly/2S7auyd
• Then the Office of the Special Counsel was created and it was announced that Trump was being investigated, suspected of trying to obstruct justice.
• The president next decided he wanted to fire Mueller, but Mueller was squeaky clean. bit.ly/2S7auyd
• On May 29, 2019, Mueller made his one and only public statement about his report.
• Though he would not charge @realDonaldTrump with a crime and the Justice Department couldn't act, Congress can.
