Taking on the decadent Democratic establishment is great if you actually incorporate a real power analysis. AOC’s controversies have not had that function. “Calling out” Pelosi for racism doesn’t expose the Party power structure, it just makes a lot of people excited on Twitter
When Omar was falsely accused of anti-semitism, and then immediately censured for doing nothing other than stating obvious facts, the power structure in the Party was laid bare. AOC quickly capitulated. (Tulsi defended Omar on national TV)

Rep. Al Green first introduced an impeachment resolution in Jan. 2017, before Trump even assumed office. His resolution today received 95 votes, 40% of the Dem caucus (including, significantly, Nadler) despite the procedural stupidity of introducing it before Mueller testifies
A slew of new House Dems and presidential candidates backed impeachment proceedings after Mueller delivered a 9 minute statement in May. Next week he's testifying for 5 hours. You only need another 25 or so Dems for a majority in the caucus
The past few weeks have been a "down time" for impeachment-related activity but support has still been slowly growing. An essentially pointless resolution just got 95 votes. Mueller next week is the grand salami. Saddle up!

The guy claimed he was going to kill himself and then couldn’t complete the task so now he’s in custody. Photos of girl’s dead, mutilated body are posted everywhere. There appears to be some unverified, convoluted backstory involving various anonymous online forums. Grisly stuff
The guy’s intended last act was to post photos of himself bleeding to death on Instagram, which of course are now preserved online. The suicide failed, perhaps purposefully, but imagine the mindset where that’s your last dying act

Let me just make clear why I’m anti-#AOC, Bernie, and their comrades and supporters.
I will absolutely agree that it’s a legitimate position to set yourself up as a left-leaning critic of the Democratic Party. They have every right to do that. I’ll defend that right against those who want them silent.
In college I studied under an advisor who agrees with them. I probably learned more from him about the world than from anyone else in my life. In truth, establishment-left politics can leave you disappointed, often. I’d argue it’s the only way to do anything though.

Been dancing around this take because I *do* think Sanders can win (one of the more likely nominees IMO). But was time to write it because I think people are wimps and overcompensating for 2016:

Sanders is polling at ~20% nationally with ~100% name recognition. Slightly higher in NH but slightly worse in Iowa. Historically, candidates in a similar position don't have a great track record. (3 for 15 in winning nominations, or 20%).
Sanders's favorability/unfavorability ratings have varied a lot from poll to poll. But on average, they're in the upper-middle part of the pack, not at the top. Biden's negatives are lower and candidates like Buttigieg and Harris have better ratings adjusted for name recognition.

1. A few points about this stunning Nunes hit on Fox. I want you to listen carefully. I counted at LEAST twice where Nunes said “I don’t know if the Justice Department may already be investigating this” in regards to the criminal referrals he is making. This is important!
I’ve been saying for a few weeks now that these investigations have been ongoing for years, and that the public sentiment needed to be there and ready for them to move forward with unsealing indictments and making arrests.
I’ve also been saying that now that we have the cover of the public knowing that there was no collusion and this was all a hoax, things should likely happen rapidly. We are moving into a new phase. Nunes mentions leaks and CONSPIRACY.
