One of the most chilling things about the "send her back" chants are the tweets from abroad.

Our descent into white nationalism is drawing international attention.

Trump is leading a domestic hate movement, and the world is watching.

@RTMannJr One of the ugliest moments at Trump's hate rally came when he lingered over his pronunciation of "Omar."

He did this twice, his voice dripping with contempt both times.

That was met by angry catcalls.

The seething hatred was unmistakable.

Stephen Miller is playing an ugly game. He claims Trump disagrees with the "send her back" chant, while echoing Trump's message about the nonwhite lawmakers in every other way.

Let's just say it: Miller is talking to white voters.

On Fox, Stephen Miller boasted that the contrast created by Trump's attacks on nonwhite lawmakers will be a winner in 2020.

But Miller made almost exactly the same boast in the runup to 2018.

Stephen Miller telegraphed the strategy: Keep stoking white grievance, as long as the white nationalism isn't made too explicit.

But it turns out *white voters* may be rejecting Trump's racism/white identity politics.

What explains the tensions between moderates and progressives?

The 43 seats Dems flipped are on average more GOP leaning than the country.

By contrast, the remaining 192 seats are *way* more Dem leaning.

I talked to @Redistrict, who did a deep dive:

@Redistrict Here are some interesting factoids.

The seats held by "the Squad" are +29, +14, +32, and +26 more Dem leaning than the country overall.

Those are *very* Dem leaning!

By contrast, these moderates are in seats that are +3, +4, +5, +6 more Republican.

@Redistrict The 43 House seats that Dems flipped -- the moderates -- average out to be +2 more Republican than the country overall.

By contrast, the remaining 192 Dem seats are on average +16, per @Redistrict's calculations.

That's a huge disparity!

TRUMP tells WH pool he "was not happy with" the "send her back" chant at his NC rally last night & tried to stop it; "I started speaking very quickly.”

The video shows that’s not true.
Here’s TRUMP’s (revisionist) response today about the “send her back” chants.
He seems to say he will tell his supporters not to do it again, but adds: “I didn’t say that – they did – but I disagree with it,” & denies the chant echoed his "go back" tweet.
"IT WAS QUITE A CHANT": Asked about his supporters' chanting "send her back" about Rep. @IlhanMN, TRUMP says "I disagree with it, by the way, but IT WAS QUITE A CHANT. And I felt a little bit badly about it … And I started speaking very quickly, but it started up rather fast …”

Trump once said “Islam hates us”, today New Zealand’s terrorist praised him as a “symbol of renewed white identity”.
White nationalism has proven to be the “quite killer, but no one talks about the dangerous rhetoric white nationalists push through politicians and media pundits.
#Trump tweets about the terrorist attacks in New Zealand, however, failed to mention:
•Muslims were killed
•Didn’t call out the terrorist who praised him
•Muslims today didn’t just “sensesssly died” but they were “killed” in cold blood.
•“Best wishes” is not a condolence.
“#Hello Brother" were the last words by the first Muslim man to be shot and killed by the coward terrorist.
Let that sink in.
