If it's 2019, it's a day in which I am constantly saying "federalism" and explaining that the bicameral legislature is not supposed to be "a true representation of the people" and was designed specifically *not* to be that. /1
I don't even like direct election of senators, so you're asking the wrong guy. The upper house isn't supposed to be "the people's house," it's supposed to be the representation of the federal union of states to temper the hoopleheads in the house. /2
We are not a democracy, we are a republic, a union of *states*, organized around a series of careful circuit-breakers that is meant to keep yokels like you and me from having too much influence at any given moment. /3x

If I can try and bridge some of the gap here, I'm not sure @EvansRyan202 and I disagree that much. I agree that just getting our hair on fire about every nasty Trump tweet is corroding our politics. On that, I agree with Ryan. /1
@EvansRyan202 But when the President of these here United States says something so inflammatory and racist, I think it should be the biggest story of the day, in that I think his enablers and supporters in Congress should be asked, one by one, if they support his statements. /2
@EvansRyan202 In a sense, I agree with Ryan. Just going ape in a voyeuristic or exploitative sense about "hey, click on this to see just how racist the President really is" gets us nowhere and corrodes our public discourse. But I'd like to see the media calling for accountability. /3

Before I leave aside the Great AOC Loyalty Festival today, I want to emphasize something, from this WaPo piece, about why conservatives like me - and I speak only for myself - are mistrustful of people like her and her CoS on their sincerity on climate change issues. /1
For years, I've argued with people on the left, saying: Yes, I get your point about climate change, and it's real and it's a problem. But I think your solutions are really about controlling capitalism in ways you prefer, and climate change is the cover you're using for that. /2
And of course, I got tons of huffy answers, here on social media and out in the world, about how that's a charge of bad-faith, and how could I, and ZOMG, and yack yack yack. Because of course, no one would do that. It's only about climate, and saving the earth, etc. /3

Okay, this is a good point. I don't despise an entire generation of Boomers, since I am related to them and love them and grew up around them. But as a small-c conservative, I find their *politics* innately annoying, much like their grandchildren.
Sandwiched between them and the Millennials (as a notch sometimes called "Gen Jones"), I feel like I'm stuck between two generations of entitled brats. I actually kinda like the X-ers, tbh, but don't tell them because it ruins my Grandpa cred.
I give the Boomers a lot of credit for changing the world. But I also think they destroyed a lot of the guardrails of American society, and now they just won't get out of politics. Trump v Clinton was the boomerest election that ever boomered, and I hated it.

You don’t want me to pick your outfit. Mostly because you know damn well that you have better style than me and also because that’s just weird. But I keep begging you. You still say no. Then I say if you don’t let me pick your outfit I won’t give you a ride.

Day 1 - FB being really annoying rejecting ads for no reason.

Had to go through their support to have them approved. Now running fine.

Won't really make a judgement on any of the adsets until at least 2-3 days have passed.
Day 2 - Made 3 sales

Conversion rate and cost per purchase are pretty shit but that's not something I care about at the moment.

Gathering data is the name of the game. Got bare ATCs which is good to see.

Made minor website tweaks -> currency convertor, checkout page script
Day 3 - Made 4 sales today

About 70$ net profit so far (got lucky with some $100+ orders)

Take aways -> selling to rich people who don't care about price is the best

Will try using a ViewContent lookalike audience tomorrow, never done that before.

THREAD: there is no one way to be a writer, no one way to tell a story, no one way to do this thing we do as a hobby or as a job or as an art form. Some write a little every day, in an office; some write a lot at one time at varying, sporadic points. It's all okay.
I think it's important to challenge all pieces of "Known Writing Advice," all those chestnuts of Vital Lore, and to see what they are and what works for you. We all have our own weird fingerprints to imprint upon this thing we do.
I think it IS important to talk about the things you do and the processes you use to write and tell a story and to hold them up and examine them -- share them with others, and listen to their ways of doing things, too.

The recent attempts to implicate serving senators such as Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani in criminal cases seem to me to be the culmination of an agenda of some within the ruling APC and in Buhari’s Govt to delegitimise the legislature in the eyes of the masses.
Many had unwittingly (or knowingly) served this agenda by ignoring the excesses of the executive while castigating the legislature - which is not comprised of saints, I must add - but this new dimension reveals the game plan to castrate that arm of Govt and render it impotent.
The calls for the scrapping of the legislature entirely or of one of the arms of it betray a lack of understanding of Democracy and I hear Yele Sowore also echoed same sentiments at his townhall meeting earlier this week in Abuja.

We should educate them a bit about this:
