If I can try and bridge some of the gap here, I'm not sure @EvansRyan202 and I disagree that much. I agree that just getting our hair on fire about every nasty Trump tweet is corroding our politics. On that, I agree with Ryan. /1
@EvansRyan202 But when the President of these here United States says something so inflammatory and racist, I think it should be the biggest story of the day, in that I think his enablers and supporters in Congress should be asked, one by one, if they support his statements. /2
@EvansRyan202 In a sense, I agree with Ryan. Just going ape in a voyeuristic or exploitative sense about "hey, click on this to see just how racist the President really is" gets us nowhere and corrodes our public discourse. But I'd like to see the media calling for accountability. /3
@EvansRyan202 I'd like to see the media calling on Pence, McConnell, members of the Cabinet, the press office, all saying: Please explain or defend this statement. So, more yelling and freaking? No. But making it news for the day, and demanding answers from POTUS's coterie? Hell yes. /4x
