That said, court action could change dynamic. Schiff and Cummings both told me today that they could back impeachment probe if Trump defies a court order. And several Dems believe that Pelosi’s tone after Mueller hearing shifted to suggest she could be open to moving ahead
Schiff on impeachment. “Certainly when we get to the point in litigation where the Trump Administration can no longer appeal, should they refuse to abide by a lawful court order, we may really be in a constitutional crisis. And that would be enough for me."
Nadler says they’ll file suit tomorrow for Mueller grand jury info and Monday or Tuesday to force McGahn to testify and turn over records

Nadler announces that their new suit to get grand jury info from Mueller probe argues they need the info to decide whether to recommend articles of impeachment. I asked him if there could be a point where he calls for impeachment without Pelosi’s support, and he sidestepped it
Language from the suit makes clear that impeachment under consideration. “Articles of impeachment are under consideration as part of the Committee’s investigation, although no final determination has been made.”
More: “The Committee seeks key documentary evidence and intends to conduct hearings with Mr. McGahn and other critical witnesses to determine whether the Committee should recommend articles of impeachment or any other Article I remedies, and if so, in what form”

Pelosi just privately told her members that they need to stay focused - but also indicated that if they need to support an impeachment inquiry, she respects that and must do what’s best for their district, per sources. She said Dems need to move forward in courts
She also indicated that they must have strongest possible case before any impeachment inquiry - in line with what she has said in past. She’ll address media momentarily and we will get a sense on where she stands and if she’s shifted at all

This moment has taken on an urgency only because Speaker Pelosi has prevented the House from doing its duty.

It's time I had my say about #Impeachment, DJT's obstructionistic tactics, and @SpeakerPelosi's not pushing for an inquiry yet.

When AG Barr released the redacted version of the report to Congress, he did *not* include any of the underlying documents on which Mueller relied.

Just like a lawsuit, a case has to be built based on facts and evidence. Both the Intelligence Committee and the Judiciary Committee have been working their way through the system, including voting to hold AG Barr in Contempt of Congress. DJT has been fighting them in court.

2/
Meanwhile, the Ways and Means Committee has also been working on getting DJT's tax returns. One of the Committees has also been working on getting records subpoenaed from DJT's financial management firm and from Deutche Bank, known for Russian money laundering.

I know everyone is clamoring to start the impeachment process & I want Donald out as much as anyone else because each day brings new & more more dispicable behavior. BUT, I know that we have to allow Congress the time they need to do this right & I believe they’ve got this.

We’ve already seen that Speaker Pelosi has the ability to play Donald like a fiddle. She’s said that Donald isn’t worth it & that impeaching him isn’t good for the Dems politically... that might be true, but I believe there’s more.

First, let’s go back in history for the first impeachment in recent memory (the one that didn’t involve a sexual relationship) Watergate. The Watergate hearings in the senate started in May 1973 & didn’t complete until a year later.
