Cruelty is breathtaking. A single child kidnapped from a white family is national news & we spend months, years, decades trying to find that child. 1000s of children kidnapped from their parents & sent to distant cities w/ no way to locate parents forcibly deported w/out them.
Imagine if YOUR child were taken from you - in minutes & w/ no warning - for "crime" of seeking shelter in what you believed would be a safe haven. Your child is taken & they don't plan to give him back. These are crimes against humanity. This should be front-page news EVERY DAY.
I believe what's happening is so awful, so frightening to parents, that we can't let out minds dwell on it too long. It's TERRIFYING - they are ripping these kids out of their mother's arms with no intention of returning them ever. These children & parents will never be the same
Please read my earlier thread on how this horror is the ultimate in racism - overall assumption of this racist administration is taking a brown child from a brown parent is not at all the same as taking a white one. They don't see these people as PEOPLE.
These are refugees. They are coming here to give their children better lives - to escape violence, deadly poverty & certain death. And we are ripping their children from them & flinging them into cages, where at least 7 children have died. Most likely more.
I've lived more than 5 decades & I never thought I'd see a day where America committed crimes against humanity like this. I never thought I'd see concentration camps on US border, nazi swastikas painted on a wall in Baltimore, a US president giving a "white power" symbol.
Never thought I'd see religious zealots passing laws to execute women & doctors for abortion or Congressmen refusing to meet w/ women alone. Never thought I'd see my beloved nation of immigrants screaming for a wall to keep out refugees. These are dark days - what lies ahead...
...TERRIFIES me. What scares me most of all is we're going to let it happen. Mainstream media is normalizing all of this. Just look at the front-page of your local paper. They should all be sounding deafening alarm bells, but they're not. The tone is NORMAL, nothing to see here.
We are rapidly descending into fascism, faster than I ever believed it could happen. And we're all waiting around for 2020 to vote Trump out. As if the election isn't already rigged. As if we have that long. That's what the Germans did, too. They waited to vote Hitler out.
