When I’m wrong, I believe in admitting it. That includes misplaced solicitations or endorsements. And, if they’re made publicly, then any retraction and/or apology should also be public. So here we are.

A person or an organization may seem to be aligned with our ideals and values, show excellent pedigree and credentials, but in reality are none of these. It may take time for the Truth to become apparent, but I believe in my heart, that it always does.
Such is the case for me, regarding Elizabeth Cronise McLaughlin. I shared her #ResistanceLive broadcasts regularly, suggested people follow her and/or sponsor #RL. However, in light of credible allegations of marginalization by a prominent WOC activist, AND a decision to now
charge for her #RL broadcasts, excluding society’s most vulnerable, I’ll no longer be sharing broadcasts, nor content from Elizabeth. I feel these factors are counter to everything which ECM claims to advocate for, and such moves are in conflict with MY belief system and
social justice work. I cannot and will not support either policy.
Long-time followers of Elizabeth may recall a controversy last year - which I didn’t witness first-hand, and therefore did not comment upon. But as recently as yesterday, I’ve felt a milder, yet still toxic bias –

one which neither Elizabeth nor her team tried to remedy - and this time, it WAS first-hand, since I was a target; so I’m speaking up to warn others. Be very cautious with donations, and in endorsing others. If your “gut feels funny”, or your “intuition is buzzing”, TRUST it.
In this instance, I ignored it. Mea culpa.

especially so, at my behest. Not to belabor this point - as there are MUCH more important things we can, and should - be focused on. But, in the interest of protecting this community and its members, I felt this warning must be made. Not to do so, is complicity.
In closing, I’m sorry if this recommendation caused any grief. It’s my hope it didn’t, but in the off chance it did, I apologize. Thank you for your solidarity, support and hard work – now we press on.
