i dunno y'all i think if jordan peterson was smart (or intellectual, or whatever word we're using to denote a skill and/or talent with ideas) he'd be able to convey his thoughts in a way that was even remotely parsible to people who aren't using him as an excuse for their bigotry
there's a lot of bullshit in the ways we think and talk about intellectualism and intelligence that are based on classism and ableism but the fact is that when you're a real expert on something you generally are able to communicate effectively on it
but his ideas are an internally inconsiderate mush half the time and the other half the time they are just incoherent nonsense
he's like so many reactionaries: he can depend on the money of fools who don't actually care about the content of most of his work and who just want to borrow his legitimacy to justify continuing to be a fucking asshole
the point of being a professional reactionary, especially an "intellectual" one like a professor, author, etc, is that you can just coast when you do it. you just tell sycophants their asshole life choices are virtuous and collect your paycheck
you don't have to write well, connect your ideas well, speak well, teach well, or practice whatever your pre-reactionary job was well. you don't have to work to improve yourself or your craft in any meaningful way.
this is why ben shapiro never says anything remotely new, let alone insightful, it's why bret easton ellis' writing about millennials sounds like an op-ed run through an edgelord filter. it's why jordan peterson's "philosophy" boils down to shit you'd see on a redpill subreddit.
it doesn't matter what ~innate intelligence~ any of these grifters have (and that concept itself is, uh, bullshit), because the point is that they're all being horrible people, and when you're willing to be a horrible person that means you don't have to work as hard
this is also why every conservative "news outlet" is an unprofessional mess. you can get away with being only slightly more coherent than an email forward when the only reason people are looking at your work is so they can have somebody tell them that hating Muslims is virtuous
also before we go jumping to conclusions about how the intellectual dark web dipshits aren't "real intellectuals" we might want to seriously consider whether the entire concept of "intellectual" isn't bullshit to be thrown out too
maybe it's so caught up in the baggage of classism, white supremacy, misogyny, etc that it's not really worth thinking of as a virtue at all. if it's so easy for grifters to pull off being "intellectuals" maybe it's not just them, it's the way we think about intellectualism
