The person targeted for this isn't always free to speak, afterwards, because if he re-enters the discussion in which he was false-flagged, his account can automatically get locked, as I know, because this has happened to me.

That conspiracy theorists and other gatherers of mobs can shut it down with relative ease.

Not seeing how. No matter how cleverly one designs a system, one can't extract energy that isn't there to be had. In the Midwest, all that seems to be present, other than topsoil and water, is a lot of absence.

Solar? One would have to take a lot of otherwise valuable soil out of use. The Midwest IS NOT sunny - during most of the year (that time when we need heat to live) the sunlight is so weak that to use 400 film in photography is to waste it.

Waves? The Great Lakes see little more than ripples compared to the seas.

Dams? Hydroelectric? The land is flat. There is little potential energy for water to drop and lose.

This is just one of the marine diesel generators that live in the lowest basement. The site has its own dual redundant HV feed, and operate their own HV/LV transformer kit. They take ~600 litres of oil, and are regularly tested.
To power those, they need a load of fuel. There’s a tank like this for each generator, and they hold enough red diesel for 8 hours. An additional huge set of tanks sit behind which receive fuel deliveries from a tanker connection outside the building.

Something on the internet I will never get tired of is doing a search for something and finding a site created and maintained by a passionate fan as a side project that has more information than any book would ever have.

We should appreciate this part of the internet more.
What is your favorite example of a committed fan maintaining an information source simply out of passion?

Here’s one I ran into today searching about the actress from ‘Goldfinger’ who passed away this week. This fan catalogs all the shows and contacts with cast and crew of Bond films.

Suspension is not a punitive measure. It is done to protect the public & ensure that the internal investigation doesn't get derailed by the accused who would still have access to files, computers, company cell phone, etc. that could hold evidence. #FairfaxResign #BelieveSurvivors

something that’s been very uncomfortable in exposing matt conn and midboss’s exploitation and harassment has been the amount of social capital it has afforded me. it has made me very uncomfortable and something we should be wary of as a community.
many people have been following me because of this and i want to say: this does not inherently make me a hero or someone worth following. i spoke because i was in a position to where others weren’t and i don’t want more people being hurt.
this is different from interpersonal callouts as this is an example of an employer abusing systemic structural power, but it still demonstrates how people can leverage a “callout” to acquire social capital

But I'll add some caveats: while all these problems are extremely hard, some of them *have* proven tractable.
But you have to talk with experts to know which, and under what circumstances.
