A 2015 poll found that Americans who had government-run health care plans like Medicare were more happy with their health care than other Americans. So why are we supposed to assume that "socialized medicine" will be a disaster? news.gallup.com/poll/186527/am…
Also, I've looked but have not been able to find a Medicare for All poll that sorted responses by age. I mean, if you're over 65 and on Medicare and you're opposed to M4A, then you're not opposed to socialism per se, you're opposed to socialism for *other people."
I recognize that this is an immensely complicated policy issue and I'm not an expert on it. But from a political messaging standpoint, this seems fairly straightforward.
People who have Medicare prefer it to private insurance. (My guess is that) the folks most opposed to M4A are older, i.e., the very people who benefit from Medicare. If they truly opposed "socialized medicine" then they should decline their Medicare coverage, right?
