Mentioning provincial party affiliations of attendees is intended to distract from the party that really doesn’t support feminism or the curtailment of sexual aggression towards women. There’s only one party and ideology that does that.
Yet partisan operatives try to blame progressive parties (Liberals) for the lack of movement on gender equality in indigenous communities.

Even indigenous communities have their own “old boys” club.

Hi Dr. Lexier. You are partially correct that free speech is not under duress on campus, or anywhere else in Canada. It’s not under threat from the left. But it is seriously in jeopardy from UCP and the far right.
One of the foundational rights in a democracy is free speech. Without it, democracy does not exist. When free speech is suppressed, our voice is silenced and dissent is impossible.

Democracies don’t suppress free speech. With one exception. Hate speech.
Hate speech is destructive, demoralizing, manipulative, and enables intimidation and violent pushback from those using it. A huge rise in hate speech is occurring globally. Many want to bring it to Canada.

This is the free speech Kenney & UCP are referring to.

Hate speech.

A promising article. Support for climate action and willingness to accept economic setbacks to some degree. Now we just need a majority election win for a party to follow through.
Of course Alberta is the negative Nellie. But there are still more who support climate action than not.

Again, noted, men vs women are less in support of economic hardship overall, but not drastically.
But overall, it means the climate crisis is registering with the electorate. Meaning Liberals need an awesome climate change action plan and to enact bill C69. Now!

Interesting question for constitutional law geeks: do the Grieve amendments (legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2019/22/…) limit Parliament's power to deliver a general election under the Fixed Term Parliaments Act?
My best guess, for what it's worth, is that the obligation in the 2019 Act for Parliament to be recalled if 'prorogued' does not fall away if there is a General Election. But that Parliament might have to sit during a General Election campaign does not preclude a General Election

The same journalists have no qualms covering Salman Khan after he's assaulted a journalist and threatened another to not publish an interview. They didn't mind featuring Saif Ali Khan's eugenics rant in which he insults a journalist either.
They'll cover Vikas Bahl's films as well. Didn't have a problem reviewing Alok Nath's film and didn't bat an eyelid when Ajay Devgn decided to work with him mere months after declaring that he'd never work with anyone accused of sexual harassment.

Native on Native crime is a way of saying that the state doesn't need to get involved because it's just Natives hurting other Natives. Because one Native is the same as any other, there's not a difference between a victim and a criminal if they're both Indians. 1
Some are telling us to ignore the MMIW findings because many of the people committing crimes are the same race as the victims. These people need to learn how to discriminate better. Because they're stopping at 'me white, you Native' 2
The correct way to discriminate between people is: 'you and I are law abiding citizens, but you're pray to criminals of whatever race, because you're Native'. 3

Interesting developments happened in 2018/2019 for natural language generation decoding algorithms: here's a thread with some papers & code

So, the two most common decoders for language generation used to be greedy-decoding (GD) and beam-search (BS). [1/9]
Greedy: at each time step, select the most likely next token according to the model until end of sequence. Risk: miss a high prob token hiding after a low-prob one.

Beam-search: to mitigate this, maintain a beam of sequences constructed word-by-word. Choose best at the end [2/9]
Beam-search is now the standard decoding algorithm for almost all language generation tasks including dialog (see arxiv.org/abs/1811.00907).

2. He's absolutely right that the #Democrats need to focus on policy issues, but in ADDITION TO not INSTEAD OF Trump's actions and investigations. And, yes, in the 2016 election we failed to do that. Consistently unsettled by his behavior, we were stuck against the ropes.
3. It's not easy. As a voice of political activism, it's overwhelming. Keeping actionable focus on policy while still giving perspective and analysis on the inevitable 'shock of the day' feels like herding cats, but risking the normalization of the Trump era is unconscionable.
