My Q to Pres Trump: What does this withdrawal by Ratcliffe say about the White House vetting process? This is at least the 2nd time someone you announced as a leader of an agency has to withdraw.
Trump’s answer: The press does the vetting for me and it’s much cheaper that way.

President Trump says he won’t weigh into the Eric Garner case and the judge recommending that the officer who put Garner in a chokehold be fired.

President Trump on the WH lawn says he believes John Ratcliffe would not have had problems with Senate Republicans. Note: Reporting by Hill reporters including @LisaDNews suggests Republicans had reservations and problems with confirming Ratcliffe.

President Trump also said he has three names on the shortlist to replace Ratcliffe but he declined to give their names. He pointed to the pocket inside his suit jacket and said the names were in there but again wouldn’t say anything more including how much experience each has.

“The farmers, they come out totally whole,” President Trump said as the number of farmers complaining that his trade policies are negatively impacting them continues to grow.
