He was beaten &strangled by KKK members &later was hanged from a tree in a racially mixed neighborhood in Mobile.
Beulah Mae Donald’s refusal to back down changed the options for victims of hate crimes and their families..
..the lawsuit also discouraged other Klan hate crimes. Though Klan members do still commit crimes, no one else has been lynched in the United States since Michael Donald.
Beulah Mae Donald's determination inspired a handful of lawyers &civil rts advocates,black &white.[She filed]a civil suit vs the members of Unit 900 &United Klans of America. The killers were..carrying out an organizational policy set by group's Imperial Wizard, Robert Shelton.
