THREAD, PLEASE RT: I have a very bold idea that could send a powerful message to our legislators...I presume that most civilians who own assault style weapons do not own them to create mass destruction like what has occurred in the multiple mass shootings in our country.
I presume they use them for sport or what have you. I do not condone owning them at all, but I also have faith that most who do are generally ethical, empathetic, and intelligent people who want this madness in our nation to stop. I believe you-owners of assault style weapons-
are the key to gun control. I believe you hold a level of power that many of us don’t. I suggest you ban together, bring your weapons in cases and deliver them, relinquish them, to your state and/or your federal legislators’ offices to show that you support gun control. If you
believe in the right to bear arms as protection of yourself, your family, your property, and your country, you should also believe that you have the right to relinquish your arms, as well. If you believe that we are under seige, you will protect yourself, your loved ones, your
neighbors, and your property at all cost-even the loss of your weapon, that is similarly in the hands of folks who are abusing the amendment and misusing the weapon. Please do this for all of us. Give up these unnecessary weapons in civilian life and help to change the laws that
