A service that works exactly as intended, barely inconveniences me once every four years and I can do 99% online? Fuck yeah.

People are dying from rationing insulin and you’re pimping stereotypes from the 70’s. Somebody *is* out of touch, and my moneys on the stuffy old guy.

This is seriously why we can’t solve issues in this country. We’re in multiple 21st century crises and there are people passing off hack stand-up bits from the 80’s as political wisdom.

Hah hah this is all very amusing but immigrants in fact use fewer public services than comparable native born people so this is not a problem that needs to be solved just cruelty so heh HEH these people are monsters. Hah.

1) Hey, I’m going to say this very nicely.

Because I am a good WGA member, when I see an official WGA letter in my email inbox, I spend the time and open and read it, because I assume it will have important information about the election.
2) When I invest my PERSONAL TIME in reading this email, it’s because I genuinely hope, in GOOD FAITH, it will contain an explanation of 1-3 coherent policy differences you have with your opponent(s), and HOW you will implement your plan,
3) So let me just say, if the content of your letter is NOT 1-3 clear, concise bullet points (or more if you’re the Liz Warren type!) on what differentiates you from your opponent(s) and why that should win our consideration, you are TRICKING me into reading something else.

The insanity here of a) the sheer rage Donald Trump has that he's ever made not feel he's not part of "the Elite" and b) the idea of an "Elite" as both assumed and a GOOD THING, as *the goal*, is amazing. There is no possibility of equality, sharing, any non-zero power struggle.
This is part of the struggle. A conservative movement in the US not dedicated to Burkean moral order and slow adoption of change but assumption and propagation of straight-up Hobbesian brutality. It's a mindset you can't negotiate with.
"If you have universal health care, that means the poor are stealing yours. If we have a decent minimum wage, that money's being stolen from YOUR pocket. We can't allow immigrants because they must be taking YOUR jobs." There are winners and losers and nothing in between.

1. The missing facts from #ClimateChangeTheFacts. The climate crisis is a direct result of neoliberal capitalism. Corporations were given the power to exploit people and the planet for profit . An ideology of free market fundamentalism - money was the only thing that mattered.
2. Neoliberalism drove de-regulation, allowed corporations free reign, whilst at the same time rich countries forced poor countries to open up their economies & allow the exploitation of their resources, & forced structural adjustment programmes that hollowed out public services
3. The most powerful & profitable corporations - fossil fuel companies, industrial food companies, & the banks financing them calculated that sacrificing black & brown people in the global South was just part of doing business.

Living in a neighborhood with people of diversity can be so refreshing. Here I was thinking that the folks living in the multi tenanted building next to mine had a set of twins and two other kids. Until today when I finally connect the dots. #LoveThyNeighbour
For years I have been overhearing the man instruct his brothers (I guess he has about 2 of his younger siblings living with him also) “Lö tan Táiyé” (Go switch on Taiwo). Some other days he would say “Lö tan Kenny” (Go switch on KENNY). I kept wondering what the Hell! 🤔
If I don’t know better I would have thought his twins were Igors or Frankensteins that needed electric jolts to come alive. But I chose to be patient. So on some days he would say “Lö tan IDee”- (Switch on Idowu) then weekends “Lö tan Àlàbá” (switch on Alaba). 🤔

I am thinking about this way more than I should because it’s kind of true but then I think more and it’s totally not but now I want to figure out what it would take to actually make it true.
Like, we’re really talking something that is very close to ADRPG in experience, where things are mostly made of fail but critically have a handful of hard points which must be respected for everyone to actually have fun with it.
Not that ADRPG was perfect, since there was a lot of jerk move stuff in the mix, but it ended up (maybe accidentally, but I grow less sure with time) very good at what I would call respectful failure. You failed a lot, but never because your character was less than you thought.
