@DineshDSouza It goes on and on like that. There are nearly 200 references to "leftists" or "leftism" in the manifesto, all negative.

I mean, there's an entire section titled THE DANGER OF LEFTISM that insists that the movement Kaczynski was calling for had to be "resolutely anti-leftist."

Fifty years ago, "The Emerging Republican Majority" was hailed then as "the political Bible of the Nixon era."

But as Dov Grohsgal & I write in @TheAtlantic, the Nixon White House and conservatives actually had mixed feelings about it at the time. theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…
@TheAtlantic Dov's not on Twitter, but he's a former student of mine and I'm going to brag about him anyway.

Those details about the Nixon White House come from his fantastic dissertation on the administration's handling of civil rights and race relations.

Oh no.
When I came to Princeton in the fall of 2000, the (then) Program in African American Studies was housed in the same building as History, so I'd see Toni in the faculty lounge every now and then.
The first time I saw her, I was starstruck.

I'd read Beloved and Song of Solomon and more as an undergrad and, like the rest of the world, was blown away.

I couldn't believe she was sitting there drinking coffee.

Whoever wrote that #manifesto was sure as hell not a conservative or a Trump supporter. It might as well have been written by the @NYTimes, complete with environmental catastrophism, anti-deportation rhetoric, etc. This is a liberal's idea of the ideal "shooter manifesto."
@nytimes In fact the #manifesto is clearly a mockery. "The Inconvenient Truth" swiped from Al Gore's false climate doomsday book. The phrase "super soldier fantasy" which is dominant among those who write for the left media. Using one narrative to disguise and legitimize another.
Then putting a bough on it and setting it on the #MSM's doorstop with enough talking points to keep the #fakenews talking points active for at least a week or two or until the truth is uncovered.

One of the strongest recurring trends of "Game of Thrones" is that Jaime *wants* to be the hero of a narrative, but without actually putting in the work to be heroic.

He occasionally comes close, but he'll always relapse. Because Jaime's self-image is always his primary concern.
This is why I'm always surprised when the internet is horrified that Jaime does a stupid/bad/grotesque thing.

Because Jaime's consistently more concerned with presenting himself as a good man than *being* one.

Today I'm going to #rant about #haskell libraries. I'm a Haskell supporter, I think it's a great language, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have problems. Some of them are surprising and I want to talk about them.
At the end of the rant I will have tips for developers using Haskell and for libraries developers (in any language, some rules are universal) so bear with me. It's a long rant but there is a good ending ;).
A preamble first: one of the reasons why I decided to study haskell is because haskell had a good way to deal with errors and invalid inputs/states.

Now In-app purchases are actually great for devs and consumer's alike. Apple kicked this off on the Apple store with Newstands. Games going free has allowed for greater market penetration. However it's a little scary when most of their money comes from a very tiny % of users.
I don't actively play Love Live School Idol Festival anymore. Yet I still login for my daily bonuses a couple times a week, and that's about it. It's still a fun rhythm game so I keep it installed for when I am in the mood for such a thing, which is once every few months. #LLSIF
