Friends, interested to hear your thoughts on this Sunday.

Some of the younger generation raised in Christian households have been drifting away from religion. In doing so, they often cite science and technology.

What do you think? Is the Bible at odds with science? (continued)
Just a few thoughts from a life long computer nerd who grew up with a complete focus on science then started studying the Bible in his 30's.

Consider this quote from scientist Stephen Hawking, who told the world he was an atheist, who many atheists consider credible:
"THE universe and the law of physics seem to have been specifically deigned for us. If any of about 40 physical qualities had more than slightly different values, life as we know if would not exist: Either atoms would not be stable, or they would not combine into molecules,
or the stars would not form the heavier elements, of the universe would collapse before life could develop itself, and so on..." -- Stephen Hawking, quoted in the Austin American Statesman, October 19, 1997

It seems Mr. Hawking himself was conflicted about his atheist theories.
"The chance that higher life forms might have emerged [only through evolution] is comparable to the chance that a tornado sweeping through a junkyard might assemble a Boeing 747 from the materials therein." -- Sir Fred Hoyle, professor of astronomy, Cambridge University
