Well covered, @VranicaWSJ. One critical point: Google is only major ad tech company still not accredited for modern brand safety (see MRC where they’re slow-rolling) while everyone is forced to use Google’s dumb blunt keyword blocking. I wrote to DCN members just last week. /1
It’s important to note this is actually an example of how when platforms avoid liability through user-generated content influencing lowest-common denominator rules which they can avoid while companies who actually manage their professional content are negatively impacted. /2
Just understand journalism from major news orgs is being demonetized and at times puts entire websites at risk of being blocked while YouTube is accredited for “brand safety” while distributing live murders. Also see Facebook. This is an antitrust symptom. Plain, simple. /3
Here were my full remarks in my monthly note to our members. We don’t normally share publicly but feels relevant with @VranicaWSJ reporting above 👆🏽. This isnt protecting old models, it is entirely a digital issue that undermines public trust.
