One quote I wish they included from me was: Men have historically been over represented in abortion debates.They have never been silent. Still, we too often assume men fall on one side of the debate and forget the many men who have worked to empower women’s reproductive choices.
As I read the article from these self-named "post abortive" men, I hear refrains of Monty Python's "Every Sperm is Sacred"... except it's not sung with irony.

I'm just saying that if anyone wanted to get me this tie as a gift to wear to the first day of reproductive politics in the US, I wouldn't say no.
I would also enjoy a birds&bees tie or anything having to do with reproductive politics that's socially appropriate to wear in public.

To appreciate the work these articles are doing to police sexuality and gender among young women, you can read @AmandaLittauer's essential book, "Bad Girls" from @uncpressblog. Judge this book by the amazing cover!

I've been thinking about this terrible, brutal thing being done to women who want an #abortion in #Missouri. It's really unconscionable to treat women and girls this way.

Everyone who wants an abortion --NO exceptions, so that includes rape victims like I was, girls who have been incested, women whose birth control failed, women who already have more kids than they can handle--has to have this vaginal exam first, before they can be approved.

An internal exam. With a speculum AND fingers.

Let me tell you that this is awful.
Every woman hates these exams.
It's a violation.
And it's one thing when your doctor has to check for fibroids or do a PAP test. But this is just to humiliate and demean and violate.

We really need to talk more about #abortion as an option for women.
It's hard to say this and hard to hear it for many, but just because you discover you are pregnant doesn't mean you must carry that pregnancy to term. Your decision will last the rest of your life--and the rest of the life of any child you decide to carry to term.

And no, I am not advocating #abortion.
I'm advocating thinking about parenthood & all it entails.
Because once you have a child, you can't just walk away from that life.
And women/girls are talked into maintaining pregnancies every day.
More discussion would change that.
