I’m covering the Boston Straight Pride Parade today for @BuzzFeedNews. Milo Yiannopoulos and The Proud Boys are expected to be here.

Small counterprotest already going this morning.

Lots of confusion at the parade start. John Hugo, one of the main organizers, (in the hat next to the shark) keeps yelling “don’t worry Milo is coming.”

Looks like Boston PD is trying to limit parade size. Blocking folks from coming in.

These guys walked in shouting “gamers rise up!”

In case you were wondering how pro-Trump this whole thing is

First amendment attorney now saying no guarantee that Boston PD will stop an antifa bloc.

“We’ll see what happens.”

Counterprotester snuck in and got ahold of their megaphone

As he walks in a counterprotester in a crown and tutu yells, “I’m here from from the bill collection agency you owe us a lot of money.”

Parade has started. I’d estimate it’s about 300 people. It marches from Copley to City Hall plaza.

Local antifascists told me earlier this month they plan to throw a bloc party. Unclear where.

The most Boston heckler imaginable: “welcome to the city douchebags.”

Showdown outside between antifascists and Boston Pd. Cops super late to keep peace. Seems like no one knows what’s supposed to happen.

Boston PD tried to clear the crowd with motorcycles.

One guy yells at the cops “I will give you a Dunkin Donuts gift card to leave right now!”

After about an hour of confusion, about 75 remaining paradegoers are trying to give speeches in city hall plaza. About 700 counterprotesters outside are drowning them out. Can’t hear anything.

Can’t hear the Straight Pride speeches over the crowd outside chanting “bottoms and tops, we all hate cops”

The Straight Pride Parade organizers look like they intend to run out the clock on their permit which ends at 4PM. Crowds are still loud but much smaller now.
