The President of the United States is alternating between playing golf and rage-tweeting nonsense while the nation mourns another mass shooting and prepares for a killer hurricane. And this kind of madness and derelict of duty has become so commonplace it’s barely even mentioned.
This country’s ability to slip into dull resignation should concern everyone. The things Trump has done, the laws he’s broken, the total lack of humanity and competence is so egregious and yet it’s obvious you can literally get away with anything.
This is why you impeach. If you just let political pragmatism get in the way then all meaning starts to erode. If you don’t impeach you send a signal that literally nothing matters and that’s exactly where we are.
