Long distance thread:

My husband & I started our long distance relationship my senior year of college. We did 2 years & I even planned my wedding while away in another state. Was it easy, HECK NO. Worth it? YES. 💛
After 7 months of being away, my husband decided he wanted to surprise me & propose to me. I just graduated undergrad & was preparing to start a new job. I was shook since we talked about waiting a couple more years. I guess when you know, you know.
We were friends for 3 years before we became official if that’s what you call it. We didn’t want to rush anything & took our time getting to really know each other. Beyond that surface level stuff.
The thing with long distance relationships is the commitment part people can’t seem to get. We both had to make sure we were on the same page. If we weren’t, this wasn’t going to work. Simple as that. We were going to have to say our goodbyes & not waste each other’s time.
This relationship was worth fighting for. We knew it was going to have its challenges. Days where we wouldn’t get to see each other, hold each other, & get to be at every special moment. But we understood it was temporary.
Something that kept our relationship so strong, was the foundation we built it on. God was what kept us focused on the outcome rather than our circumstance.
