He also remembered Keith's thirst for Shiro.

Then there was a big problem.
It wasn't a cute crush, Keith had fallen and fallen hard.
Now, however, he could see it with his own eyes all over again, and somehow Keith looked more devoted than ever.
He was wrong.
Those glances he'd noticed earlier returned with a vengeance, and the unrequited nature of Keith's love wasn't so unrequited anymore.
Matt went in the room only to see flowers, blankets, a small purple stuffed-hippo, everything. He also saw Keith looking at Shiro like he was the starry sky.
It had been a joke, something he actually believed was multiple people giving Keith gifts, but the embarrassed flush that donned Keith's cheeks told him otherwise.
Unfortunately, Keith did have a sugar daddy, and it was Shiro.
Yeah, Keith was in love, but Shiro had a different dynamic with him, not like the "little brother" he acted like he had before. It was different how he just talked about Keith.
She was able to say with certainty Keith is "one kinky fuck," and Shiro "needed to get laid."
"We should celebrate that we're all out of the hospital!" Lance told them all insistently. "C'mon, we've had three meetings this week and I want to party!"
"I like the idea of a break," Hunk interjected.
Allura hesitated. "I suppose it might be good for morale to enjoy a night away from business."
Lance smirked. "Democracy, Pidge."
"I agree with Pidge," Keith said. "Sounds stupid."
Matt raised an eyebrow when Keith bit his lip, clearly contemplating the idea now that Shiro was there to agree with Lance.
"3 to 2. Doesn't matter what he says."
"Well, since we can all drink now, we should go to a bar," he paused a moment. "Except Pidge. You're what? 14?"
Pidge lifted up her middle finger to Lance.
"Not according to my birthday," Lance said with a wink. "I'm exactly the age they'll let me drink."
"A bar?" Keith said blandly. "Of all the places you could go, you want to go to a bar?"
"Alcohol really isn't all that amazing," Matt said. "Or at least the 'alcohol' I had in space. That stuff was really disgusting."
"Earth alcohol could be great!" Lance said.
"Hey! No being responsible tonight!" Lance interrupted.
"You already picked the place, didn't you?" Pidge asked.
Lance walked away whistling, not caring at all about the mixed reactions behind him.
"He can't be serious," Keith stated.
"He's very serious," Hunk replied.
"Catching up on bad Earth sci-fi's doesn't count as 'plans,'" Matt said amusedly.
"So is anybody going to tell me what an Earthen bar is like?" Allura asked. "Actually, father didn't want me near such places anywhere."
"And you know this, how?" Matt asked.
“Point taken.”
“I’d say you shouldn’t do that, but that’s a fair reaction,” Hunk said.
“We told Lance we would,” Hunk pointed out. “Kind of a jerk move to not show up.”
“Lance told us we would,” Keith corrected bitterly.
“Ok, but it’s still not cool if we don’t show up. How bad could it be to let loose?”
Matt smiled. “Sounds like fun to me.”
“I should ask Romelle if she’d like to join,” Allura said, standing up. “I think it will be nice to be together like this.”
Shiro shook his head and placed a hand on Keith’s shoulder. “Give tonight a chance. If you don’t like it, we’ll leave.”
Keith frowned, but nodded.
Matt looked at Pidge and mouthed the word “we.”
“No alcohol,” Matt and Shiro said at the same time.
Pidge scowled. “If I’m old enough to save the universe I’m old enough to drink.”
“No,” Matt said.
Allura followed.
“I should get ready too, I guess,” Hunk said with a shrug. “See you soon, guys.”
Hunk left, leaving Matt, Keith, and Shiro.
“Hey, Keith,” Shiro said. “I have something for you.”
Shiro smiled at him. “It’s from your mom. She told me she had blades business and asked me to give it to you.”
Keith looked surprised. “What did my mom need to give me?”
“Clothes,” Shiro answered.
“If you hadn’t noticed you’ve grown quite a bit,” Shiro said amusedly. “You can’t fit in the red jacket anymore.”
Keith frowned. “I love that jacket.”
“I might have looked,” Shiro began. “I think it’ll look great on you.”
“I guess I should trust my mom…”
“Thanks for letting me come with you guys,” Matt said. “I’m not in the Voltron team, so it’s cool you’re letting me go.”
Their eyes were now focused on Matt, something that surprised him a bit.
Keith nodded in agreement.
That touched Matt’s heart, knowing Shiro and Keith still considered him a friend after years of time away from each other. It was nice to know their friendship meant something.
“Pretty sure you’ll look good no matter what,” Shiro said kindly. “The long hair suits you.”
Matt laughed. “I take that as a compliment since it’s from you, Mr. Super-sexy-beefcake.”
He laughed for quite a bit after that, remembering the looks on their faces. Shiro was so oblivious about his looks, and even more oblivious about Keith’s interest.
Pidge, Hunk, and Shiro were there when he arrived, but it was only minutes before Allura and Romelle had arrived too.
“I wonder where Keith is,” Shiro said worriedly. “This isn’t like him.”
He looked nice, too nice for a bar.
“I feel stupid,” he complained. “You’d think my mom would get something practical.”
“I think you look good,” Shiro insisted. “It’s a bit fancy, but it’s nice.”
Somehow Shiro just nodded in understanding, not catching Keith’s hesitation.
Krolia was a really smart woman, and it didn’t take a genius to know that she could see right through her son’s front about his platonic feelings for his “brother.”
It was, in fact, a bar, but it was also a place that doubled as a restaurant and it overall had a nice look to it to the point nobody had a complaint.
Matt was glad for it, only wanting to come because of Pidge, Shiro, and Keith, but not excited about being around drunk people.
Lance, Hunk, and Keith however, were now old enough (or at least that’s what their ID’s said) to try drinks.
Allura politely declined anything of the sort, and while Romelle was very curious about Earth alcohol, she declined as well.
“My pa liked the stuff,” Keith said, looking away from everybody. “He always laughed when I asked if I could have some.”
“Lance, shush!” Hunk said, happily leaning toward Keith. “He’s talking about his feelings!”
Keith backed away. “I am not!”
“C’mon, buddy,” Hunk said, reaching out from across the table. “Hug time!”
“What?! Not here!”
Matt started drinking only to hear loud choking noises just a moment later.
“Keith!” Shiro said, hand on Keith’s shoulder. “You can’t drink it all at once!”
“You ok?” Shiro asked him gently.
“Its a drink not a bullet wound,” Pidge said blandly. “He’s fine.”
“Pidge,” Shiro warned.
At that point apparently Keith was done with the others teasing, and before anybody could stop him, he grabbed the glass and gulped down the rest of it.
The table was silent.
She kindly asked if they needed anything else, only for Lance and Hunk to ask for another one of their drinks.
“I’d like another, too,” Keith said.
“Keith,” Hunk said warily. “Maybe this isn’t such a good idea.”
“I think it’s a great idea!” Keith replied, Matt noticing for the first time his eyes had glazed over.
“You’re not exactly sober yourself,” Pidge said to him. “You don’t need another either.”
“What?! I’m fine!”
“You’re slurring your speech,” Pidge pointed out blandly. “Admit it—you’re a lightweight.”
“You really shouldn’t have gotten another, either,” Hunk said, now beginning to eat his food. “You had too much for your skinny body.”
Lance stuck his tongue out like a child, only making Matt believe Lance really was a lightweight. This was going downhill fast.
“Keith, buddy? You ok?” Shiro asked worriedly.
Hunk and Lance were off in their own heads, but Romelle and Allura were curiously watching, Pidge was scowling, Shiro was flushed pink, and Matt was ready for the show.
“K-Keith?”
That had people’s attention, even Lance and Hunk.
Shiro, now having a soft smile on his face, completely endeared. “You could say that.”
“He’s beautiful,” Keith said with a sigh. “Beautiful eyes, hair, and smile… he’s nice too.”
"He's big too," Keith added. "I like his muscles."
The reactions around the table differed, ranging from Allura putting her hand over her mouth in an "oh my" fashion, to Pidge who was holding back laughter.
"Continue, Keith!" Lance shouted. "Tell us all about Shiro!"
Shiro sent Lance a very unamused look, but wasn't able to say anything before Keith decided to get handsy.
"Can you keep a secret?" he asked, way too loud to give a secret.
"Yep!"
"Guys, this isn't right," Shiro told them sternly. "You may think it's funny, but this is breaking his trust. We should--Keith!"
Shiro pulled his hand back quickly.
"I wanna talk about Shiro," he said petulantly.
"No, you don't," Shiro replied firmly. "I'm going to take you home, ok?"
Keith glared at him. "No."
Shiro gaped at him. "'No?'"
"I want Shiro," he said, tearing up.
“Keith, we’ve gotta get you to your apartment,” Shiro said, trying his best to sound soothing. “You’ll feel better.”
“No,” Shiro said. “He’s at your apartment. How about we go?”
Keith’s head snapped up, his attention caught. “He’s there?”
“Yes.”
Keith paused a moment. “Is he naked?”
“What?! No!” Shiro replied quickly.
“I’m afraid not,” Shiro said, his voice turning high-pitched.
“Maybe you should ask nicely,” Pidge said with a smirk.
Shiro sent Pidge an unamused look, not appreciating her contribution at all.
“So if I ask, then he’ll marry me?”
“Would he say yes?” Keith asked Shiro at the continued silence. “I would be a great husband.”
“I know what I want,” Keith said petulantly. “I want to marry Shiro.”
“Keith, please,” Shiro said, sounding pained. “You don’t mean that.”
If Matt thought the table was in shock then, now was worse.
“We’re leaving,” Shiro said suddenly, reaching out to lift Keith up from his chair, letting his arm wrap around his waist to keep him on his feet.
“To go to Shiro?”
“I’ll help you,” Matt said, noticing Keith couldn’t keep his balance. “But there’s always bridal style?”
Matt smiled at Shiro, joking to lighten the tense atmosphere, but Shiro didn’t react. He was affected.
Nobody said goodbye, not when the night had taken a sad turn.
Shiro and Matt brought Keith out of the bar, and back toward Keith’s place.
“He can’t,” Shiro said, sounding broken. “Even if he wanted to, he can’t.”
Matt went to glare at Shiro for making drunk Keith cry, but he looked just as bad.
“How about you talk more about Shiro,” Matt said, trying to comfort him. “What do you like about him? You said he was hot, right?”
“Big muscles too?”
“Yeah,” he said again. “I like his big muscles.”
“Matt,” Shiro hissed.
Matt ignored him. “What else do you like about him?”
“He looks good in tight outfits,” Keith said. “He has good tits. They’re nice, you know?”
“They are pretty big, aren’t they?” Matt asked in amusement. This could go bad, but at least he wasn’t crying anymore.
“The biggest!”
“Matt,” Shiro groaned.
He hoped Keith's answer was going to worth the glare he was getting from Shiro.
"His heart," Keith sighed.
Matt rolled his eyes, not at all getting the answer he wanted.
"None of this is funny," Shiro argued, giving Matt a furious look. "You shouldn't joke about this."
"Stop being a killjoy, Shiro," Matt said. "He's drunk. Drunk people are supposed to be entertainment."
"You think he doesn't mean it?"
It took a while to do just that, Shiro having to coax Keith into getting into his home. Keith started asking about Shiro again, and it worsened the situation when he tried stopping them.
Keith's eyes widened. "Is that my room?"
"Yeah, don't you want to sleep? You're probably tired."
"I want to sleep with Shiro," Keith said urgently, trying and failing to leave Matt and Shiro's support. "I bet he can snuggle."
Keith nodded happily. "Ok."
They brought him back to his room (it was simple and plain and very Keith) where Shiro then did carry him bridal style to put him on the bed.
"How about you sleep and he'll see you in the morning?" Shiro asked, gently moving Keith's hair away from his face.
"You're very nice," Keith said, closing his eyes as Shiro stroked his hair. "Like Shiro."
"I think I'm tired," he said slowly.
"You should rest. I'll be here in the morning, I promise."
"And Shiro?"
"And Shiro."
Matt decided then it was time to leave.
Keith's thirstiness hadn't changed, probably had even gotten worse. His love for Shiro? That was more intense than ever and Matt knew now it was reciprocated.
